How the Journey Works

I

Set Your Goal

Choose your yearly walking goal — 200 miles, 365, or whatever fits your pace. We scale Frodo's 1,800-mile journey to match yours.

II

Log Your Walks

Record each session as you go, or bulk-import from a spreadsheet. Every mile counts — even a short evening stroll.

III

Journey Begins

Watch yourself arrive at 36 iconic Middle-earth landmarks — Rivendell, Moria, Lothlórien — as your real miles accumulate.

IV

Walk with Friends

Invite your Fellowship. See everyone's progress on the leaderboard. Encourage each other on the long road east.

The Mechanics

Your miles, Frodo's path

Frodo walked roughly 1,800 miles from Bag End to the Crack of Doom. We scale your personal goal onto that same journey — so whether you're aiming for 200 miles or 2,000, you travel the same legendary road at your own pace.

Hit 10% of your goal? You've just reached Weathertop, scarred by Ringwraiths. Reach 30%? Welcome to Rivendell.

The Fellowship leaderboard

Invite friends and family to walk alongside you. The Fellowship page shows everyone's progress in scaled position — not raw miles — so fitness levels never matter. A grandparent walking 200 miles is just as much a hero as an athlete doing 2,000.

Choose your character avatar, log your walks, and watch your dot creep closer to Mount Doom.

Logging Made Easy

Log as you go — or all at once

Log a quick session from the dashboard, or upload a full year's walking data from Excel in one go. Multiple sessions per day are supported — morning treadmill, lunch walk, and evening stroll each get their own entry.

An interactive chart tracks your weekly progress, and your position on the Fellowship leaderboard updates in real time.
